    Endlers

Are Endlers livebearers ( Poecilia wingii ) on Malta?

I have forms such as Black Bar, Red Chest, Tiger & Snakeskin in the UK. All are easy to breed. New forms are being developed all the time but I have bought my stock from collectors in most cases.

I visit Malta every September & could bring breeding stock. It would be nice to establish these fish with Maltese breeders if they are not already in circulation.

Are endler's livebearers categorised under guppies? Do they compete with guppies in shows?

Never had any endlers before, how difficult are they to keep when compared to guppies? Do they require any specific water requirements? Most importantly how often do you find them at lfs, as it is important from time to time to have some new blood on the market...

    Re: Endlers

I don't have them neither, but I think they are hardier then guppies. In guppies you have to choose the colours of the male and female to be the same for certain breeding. For showing you have to choose the same colours. Females of endler's are without colour. As requirements I don't know exactly. In our club apart of Natalia, I know other 2 members who are breeding these fish so exchanging or buying new stock is not a big problem.

    Re: Endlers

Can edlers have different markings on their body or they're always the same?

    Re: Endlers

Each endler guppy male has different pattern like a finger print, no specimen is identical to one another, those I've bought from Charles Zammit ( english stock) are more coloured orange and green but lack those big black spots, Nathalia's stock ( germany) havn't that intesive orange and green but in comparison have nice big black spots over the body and a nice well defiened lyre tail! I mixed 2 pairs from Charles and 2 pairs from Nathalia, so that to have a better outcome, stroger, with intensive colours, big black spot and a nice lyre tail too! Wink
