    Re: kribensis

Theres nothing you can do but you have two possibillities

    •   Or you can try to exchange the female
    •   Or else try to stabilize in another tank so that he will become dominant and then add the famale to that tank so that she wontfeel like a SUPER  WOMAN

This is my first and only Krib spawn...placed first @ the Show (junior section)

that came into my mind infact i removed her from the main tank and placed her in a breeder and shuffeld some things around. maybe now he will become the dominat one and end not be domestically abused lol

    Re: kribensis

When I bred kribs I never tried breeding 1 male with 1 female. This combination is very hard to be successful. With kribs I normally

buy 2 males and say 4 or more females. The alpha male will generally kill the other male in the tank and then choose a female

for him to breed with. I normally leave them breed in the comunity tank for the first tiemand then remove them in a seperate tank

if I want the brood to be bigger in quantity. Then you can be sure you have a breeding pair.

    Thats right Ted!

Oh yes I forgot to mention that I had around 6 kribensis (bred in gozo) but when pairing occured they killed all the others....

With breeding any fish, you have to be patient & not in a hurry at all. You have to be prepaired for the fry & have tanks available. You cannot breed much in one tank & surely don't place any fish in a breeder.

Please treat Corydoras as community inhabitants & not as scavengers. Wink

Kristofer .....good to know that kribensis are shy fish specially when breeding. They like to be left in peace and quite to lay their eggs in a remotely flower pot hidden between several plants and rocks. The more you try to peep to see if they laid any eggs or disturbing their hide out by lighting a flash light or something similar you are inviting disaster. The best thing to do is to leave the couple alone and one fine day you'll see a proud mum coming out with a brood of baby kribs for a sunday swim........
