Five will be enough so that you will try to have a pair ,but keep it in mind that frontosa grow to 30cm so they need space to grow ,they are shy fish but once they grow they will be always out in the front, if you will have two males one of them have to be removed so do not over do it while you are purchasing them.If you are going to buy ,do not buy them from the same shop so that you will not inbreed them, because normaly they are brotheres and sisters,if need be you will buy 3 from one shop and wait another batch if you want them from the same shop.

I posted this photo to show the reward you get when you breed them,do not ask me if i have any for sale because they are sold and are living in Gozo.Good luck friend they are excelent to keep and breed.

    Re: Oscar fish

Thanks again. As said earlier i need to find a good home for my oscar. It's always difficult for me to sell or give a fish because i get really used to them.I would have liked to keep my oscar and add another 1 with him but i think 2 are too much for a 60 gallon.I really like oscars but the tank looks quite empty with only 1.Thats why i want frontosa because they are big and can stay in multiple numbers

You can always have another aquarium my friend if space permits. You can put your loved oscar in the advert section of our website and try to find a good home for him.

If you want I can offer you a 6ft aquarium, complete with sump and stand. All you need is to do some minor repairs on the sealed corners .. ie: reseal them. I don't want any money ... yes it's free .. just a small donation for the club that would be appreciated. Contact me if you need more info ... charlon_ellul@hotmail.com

You have quite a huge tank now Xelinu. Your oscars will enjoy themself alot. In my opinion, the main question to be asked here

is not really how many oscars can I hold in the tank, but what should I do with the other Oscars when 2 of them pair up ???

It is not only the size of the tank that counts but also the filtration you are going to use. I would say that 6 oscars can live quite

comfortable in your tank now. But look ahead not just when you are purchasing the oscars when they are small in size because you

know they grow up very rapidly and in no time you'll have a pair and the other 4 fish will probably need a new home.

These are my two oscars cleaning their slate. I inserted a picture of them to test the picture size and hope they'll spawn shortly. Confused

     Martin.

I had to separate them lately as they were fighting so much they were damaging themselves seriously. Who knows, male and female or maybe two males ????

The best fish to keep for me, even if some time they fight, but when they grow up and they"ll have difrent characters from each other is fantastic.I ve lost my 2 boys gorg and diaz my old oscars and it was hard but now i have another one his small named gorg the secound .His already showing his character shy but chichy,Good luck martin maybe when'dll spawn agen hi'll fertilise tham.
