hi there peacock lovers.
i have had a good number of sad stories and many more better ones with these beauties -
these have to be kept in a bit calmer aquarium - when we keep them with mbunas - like pseudotropheus it is not the aggression which hurts them but the hustle bustle - they just want it a bit calmer - so better avoid larger fish, and very active fish like most mbuna.
i keep 3 species in 3 differnt set-ups - one with victorians(rock krib,igneopinnis,piceatus) and smaller haplos growing up(mylochromis melanotaenia)
one with victorians (pundamilia red head, smaller copadichromis, labidochromis pearlmutt)
and one with predators and larger plachidochromis, but in this case it is a 700 litre aquarium - so they have their own spaces when they need them.
generally, if you see no breeding activity and parading of colors/domination by hte male, it is a good sign that the fish cannot show its best !
utaka bay.
