    Re: Marine Lovers

Hi Valhmor,    you can use either crushed coral or sand, the benefit of sand is that detritus does not gather on it given that you have a good circulating pump which is essential in marine aquariums that will host corals.

If you are going to keep corals I do not recommend having an external canister filter as you will end up with a nitrate factory in no time and cleaning the canister will result in removing essential bacteria needed for your marine tank, use a sump instead with live rock you can also include a compartment where you can put in floss or charcoal if needed, these need to be removed after 2 weeks do not leave them more than that. Whatever you do never remove the live rock from the sump as you could easily crash your aquarium.

    Regards
    Trevor.

    Well Done Valhmor. Smile

Apart from the 2 Clown Fish (Amphiprion ocellaris), that can easily be seen, what are the other Live tankmates?.

Well done Vahlmor. Clownfish are my preferred fish in the marine aquarium. Their colours are vibrant. How long did you leave the system to settle, before putting any fish?

    How are your clowns doing?

How are you doing with your second project Valhmor?

I am going to build a 7 feet aquarium in my living room but I'm still undecided regards the setup. My two options are a reef one or a planted one with Discus. For both I need a chiller for the Summer. Corals and plants need cool water.
