Hi Edmond the dark ones on the photos above are of the strain of black lace that eventually produced the zebra angelfish, If you manage to breed two black lace parents they will produce some black, around 50% black lace and some silver/ordinary angels, the black ones are less robust so they need more stable conditions to survive.

The tank is  31 galon and the tank mates a 4 small discus and 4 bronze cory. The tank has 3 filters,1 esternal filter that moves the water 4 cyles per hour ,a spange filter that works as air dispenser and a small internal filter for more circulation in the tank.

    Re: Some great looking Angels

Your tank is on the minimum size for ten angelfish to grow properly and have a good water quality, so i do not agree to have the discus with them. If you can spare another tank for discus is preferable, the corydoras are not a problem because they are small, one of the main reasons for a ph crash is too much fish stock for the tank water, if i was you i will opt for eight angelfish in your tank and leave them to grow in a good size, i prefare to have better sized fish then more fish but smaller,a good size adult angelfish is magneficent in an aquarium, not to mention that when breeding occures they become territorial and space is needed. Another important thing to prevent from ph crashes is weekly water changes, you can do 25% weekly.

Make sure that you do not have strong current in your tank from the three filters that you mantioned because angelfish and discus do not like currents in the water they feel much better in very slow moving water, in their natural habitat they are found in flooded areas and still waters.

Can i ask you if you use tap water or water from a well for them please?

    GOOD LUCK.

Tap water has better PH buffer than an evarege well water due to lower KH, KH is the buffer for PH, Ex; if you have low KH you have bigger chance for a PH crash especilly if the tank is well stocked and not enough water changes are done. My tap water KH is around 5 and i have never had any problems except when i was over stocked with a lot of fish in the same tank long time ago.

Good luck Edmond and if you have questions feel free to ask.

Good to hear that. Keep an eye as overstocking can be dangerous if not monitored constantly.
