I would try to acquire some banana worms as they're smaller. Some java moss in the hatching tank will help too.
Why Java moss help?
Alot of micro-organisims live on Java moss & the fry can feed on them & grow healthy.
Yes that's why, and also it gives shelter to the small fry. If you want some I'll give you a piece from the club's planted aquarium.
Thanks Jonathan and Jason. When they hatch what should I do? Another question that I have is can I add other eggs because in the mop there are some more eggs. Those 6 eggs I had before 5 of them are fertile and 1 fungused.
When they'll hatch you should wait till they eat their yolk sack & after feed them some banana or microworms. Do daily partial water changes & I wouldn't add the mop with eggs where the fry are, but place them in another container.
Today I found 2 fry in the container. Now what should I do with the fry but there are some eggs that are fertil in the container. Can I seperate the eggs from the fry or the fry from the eggs?
If the eggs where laid on the same day, then they'll hatch approx. on the same day as well. As first foods, I would wait til they'll eat their yolk sack & then start with Banana or Microworms. Both are very good as first foods.
Thanks Jason. I put some Java moss and some microworms but what should I do for the water because the water have acriflavine.Do the acrifalvine harm the fry?
You must do a water change, but make sure that the water is quite the same, so you don't disturb the fry & don't feed your fry, if they still have the yolk sack.
I only have 2 pairs of killifish in my fish room and therefore I am afraid I cannot give any useful tips on these wonderful creatures. But going through this thread gives me great pleasure and knowledge. Thanks for everyone participating.
