    Hi jtheuma,

The ratio regarding the gardneri fry seems almost equal, males to females. With the rachovii, I got 7 females to 2 males. I'll see what would come out in the other rachovii fry grow out tanks, and will keep you updated.

Nice journal Charlon , keep up the good work .  Are you breeding something else or you're just into killies .  Breeding them (killis) seems so difficult ...Huh?

    Keep it cichlid !!

    Hi Teddy,

At the moment I'm more concerned about breeding killies, than any other fish I own. Killies are not that difficult .. all you need is time (unfortunately I don't have too much of that) and some experience with raising fry of egg-laying sp. would be an asset.

Besides from the killies I breed, I have other fish which I intend to breed at a later stage, mainly corydoras. But then again all I need is some more spare time.

If you have some questions on killie breeding, don't hesitate to ask .. I'll be glad to help Big Smile

I'm sure I can count on your help he he.  At the moment my interests are dwarf cichlids I would like to try breeding a pair of kribs (Pelvicachromis pulcher) or some apistogrammas or some tanganyikans (which can stay in a 90cm tank) . My bolivian rams definately gave me a good boost.

    Keep it cichlid !!

If you're going to house your new acquisitions together with your now establish pair of Bolivian rams (ie: in the same tank) I suggest that you would go for either a pair of kribs (which are very hardy) or a pair of apistos. I wouldn't choose a pair of tanganyikan, if you still want to keep your current fish, as they come from different continents, with different water parameters, habitats, etc.

Also note, that by adding another pair of kribs or apistos, I would stop adding cichlids after as you would be quite on the high side of the risk, when it comes to territory.

Wish you luck, and as always keep us updated with those beautiful pics you post.

P.S. If you're interested in apistos, then the following link may be of use Wink ..  http://www.forum.apistogramma.com/index.php
