Has anyone ever kept these ? I might get one from a local lfs but I was wondering , if I add a box filter will they crawl out of the tank from the air pipe ?

I think that you still have to put a "lid" on your tank. I don't know if they'll "jump" out or not, but better be safe.

I have one of these and its really one of my favourites since I put food on a piece of bogwood and it comes up for it. It would easily come up the air pipe so the best way is to cover the tank with a lid. It will feed on granules, shrimps, small pieces of banana, peas and all sorts of vegetables.

 I have looked at the site, and i must admit i never kept any of these crabs. I have seen them at the local shops, but i guess you will have to have a special tank just for them. Do they spend a lot of time in the water, or mostly out of it? There are some beautiful colours but i must admit that they do not interest me.

I will have to find a bigger rock I'm not sure it will be really happy in 5cm's of water. Thanks for the info guys. Giann are they expensive I'm not willing to spend a lot and maybe find it dead within a week.

 I heard that they even eat silicone air tubes......... keep an eye Ted.

 Hi i do not know if you have bought the crab or not yet. But if you want a couple of rocks i can give you some as i have some extra. They have been in the water for a long time so they would be good for your tank. If you want any  just let me know
