@ C Grima:  Normally I keep between 10 & 20% of every brood, but unfortunately some of them has to be culled at a much later stage because they stay at wild colour and do not turn black like the others, due to genetics I guess!  Normaly they turn black at around 2 to 3 months old.

@ Martin:    Woww you were very close man because last night I wasn't in the sleeping mood and I have counted 1608.

@Kristofer:  That is a normal brood size before culling but to get quality up you have to get numbers down, That is a breeding tank which measures 3ft by 2ft. and when the parents are ready from breeding I remove them to another tank and leave the eggs alone to hatch, when all the fry becomes free swimming I carefuly lower the water level to around 10 cm, as said above. As from the first day of feeding bbs I start to do daily water changes.

Great specimens Ivan. Take good care of them. The photos are too large to be viewed. Make them smaller.

From the photos above of the same fish one can easely notice the huge difference in the head growth in a short of time.

    I myself cannot believe!!!

The big difference can surely be noted Ivan. Can they see as their eyes are almost covered by the growth ? !!!

It can see till now Martin, but I am afraid that if the same growth rate persists it will definitely has unpleasant effect on her eye sight.

I saw photos somewhere on the net I cannot remember where, veterinarians who make small surgeries on the eye's area and it will become fine, The headgrowth is made of many layers of skin that forms into that magnificent look which I really like in Oranda.

ohh I see. Well an operation like that has to be administered by a professional. It is a pity that a fish of that standard loose the eye sight due to the head growth.

Ivan, or you have to post the pictures at a smaller size, or else the "Admins." will do it for you, as I also cannoy see the first pictures you posted, due to their size, while the others are visible 100%.
