sure! breeding l. trewavasae like rabbits - i have 5 females and normally there is always 2 of them mouth breeding. i think i must have around 70 of these in my rearing tanks.

maison reef is a bit more delicate - but i bred these 3 or 4 times - small quantities - 10 fry each time - keeping the first broods for myself.

zebra gold - it was a nightmare to get enough females so that the male does not batter them to death - now that i got 3 females, it is working and i have just taken my 3rd group of fry (normally 15 to 20)- as usual keeping the first 20 to ensure the continuity of the species in my aquariums and then disposing of those coming thereafter.

all of these were in a 400litres 120 x 70 - but i now moved them to a 700 litres - cause they deserve to be in a more spacious tank.

cannot keep any haplos with them as these are probably the most active mbunas around, except maybe the labeotropheus which might be kept with some hardier haplos like nimbochromis or cytocara in a big tank.

    utaka bay.
