In that 4 foot south american set up I have the Rams, some Corys, the Brochis, some Angels, some Jurupari and a few Threadfin Acaras and a discus which has survived from my first batch. They are quite timid and only a few disputes going on. I give the beer to the gents and some mirrors and make up to the ladies to keep them quiet ............. ha ha ha ha

The M.Ramirezi I have turned out to be all males. I find it difficult to sex males and females from the LFS as they are usually small in size and they turn the same colours when you put the net in the aquarium to catch them. I would love to have some females high fin for my 4 males I have.

Yes really. Thanks for reminding me mate. I give first preference though to locally bred when this is possible. Any ways....... I will take your advice mela.

For locally bred fish, you can always use the classified section of this site - http://www.maltaaquarist.com/Classified.cfm or the Malta Aquarist Society monthly publication - Ilma Car. Stick out tongue

I have kept a couple of these fish in the past, though i must admit they are not one of my favourites i do not know why. I know you can also keep them with discus but i have never really wanted to buy any. I know that today there are so many varieties of the fish, with also some really small ones in size. Well maybe)i will wait till Martin manages to find a female and  breed them. Though at this rate i think it is going to take a long time, unless some of his male fish do a sex change.

Martin ipprova gib xi advert fuq familja kana jew fuq xi gazetta lokali, :)

The third photo shows a pair with upper fish being a male with the first rays on its dorsal fin protruding from the rest. Also you can see the red belly of the female.

Yes Gian you are right they are a pair. At the moment they are housed in a 3 foot tank together with some bushy nose catfish. I have noticed the male running after the female these couple of days. Who knows,,,,,,, may I do not need to make an advert for a female at all !!!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha .
