Thanks for advice Martin, As regards the hole in the head, it has had it already and after a lot of Flagyl treatment it has healed but still you can see the old markings, The ones which you are refering to.

Yes Martin the bogwood and the stones are a shelter for four Polypterus which are doing fine in Oscar's tank but i prefer to keep some hiding places just in case for them, You know, all of them are agressive but they look fine together. But thanks again for your advice, When i have some free time i will prepare something more safe for the Oscar because i don't wish to remove the Polypterus from that tank.

Hi Edmond.... so sorry to hear of your losses. Big fish need powerful filtration and frequent water changes to survive. They are messy eaters and therefore their wastes should be dealt with. If the above are not looked after, the possibility of ammonia and/or nitrite poising are inevitable. Ammonia can do alot of damage to the fish, specially to the gills and other organs, let alone other diseases such as pop eye. If you are going for big fish again, be sure you do not crowd your tank and follow the rules accordingly. Good luck.

I really like the one at the top, the Sajica cichlid. Is it a south american cichlid and have you ever bred from it. I must admit i never saw one like it.

I like the Sajica a lot too , very nice colouration. Somehow they don't look very aggresive. Martin can you tell us more about it please.

The Sajica cichlid, sometimes also known as the T-Bar cichlid, comes from Central America, to be exact from the pacific coast of Costa Rica. They are closely related to the notorious Convict Cichlid. Although not as aggressive, the Sajica will become territorial when breeding. They are substrate spawners and will defend their young. Not much fussy with water quality nor nor feeding. Yes I have bred them and have some month old fry. The colours of both sexes during spawning is very nice.
