    Small jar for keeping shrimps

I have this jar ( which I bought for my wedding cake) which you can see in the picture below, measuring 14cm *14cm* 20cm.

I want to put it on my desk with some plants (obviously low light) and a few cherry shrimps or other shrimps which tolerate room temperature. I will not have any filtration or air if possible and just a small light above to switch on in the evening.

Do you think I will manage with some java moss? Any other plants one can suggest?

You could also add a java moss, or an anuias nana maybe???

i have a few cherry shrimps which i am keeping in a biscuit glass jar. In summer i kept it outside and it was soon all green with algea and full of young shrimps. Now i have brought the jar inside, can the shrimps survive in such cold temperatures, espcially now that we are getting a big drop in temperature at night

Bert, yes I can use Anubias and Java fern. Maybe I'll try to leave the Anubias submerged.

Cherry shrimps survive these temperatures, maybe they'll loose some of the colour but mine are still going strong. Because I have some at my wife's father, so indirectly I have another aquarium.

I keep the Cherries in an unheated tank at room temperature, but I have a sponge filter. You can leave the filter out & change the water more often, as Cherries aren't that messy.

Reguarding plants, I would opt for any type of Moss, attached to a rock, wood or coconut shell.

Please treat Corydoras as community inhabitants & not as scavengers. Stick out tongue

I  Have tried keeing mine in a jar at room temperature but i have noticed the are very few left, so i am thinking of putting them in a heated small tank, at least hopefully will have enough left to breed for next year till i can put them out again in the sun.

I will try them at room temperature since Cherry shrimps go well in unheated tanks.
